T-Wolves drop home opener to Ravens

The Russell High School Intermediate Girls T-Wolves basketball team welcomed the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Ravens on Wed., April 19, for their first game of the PRSSAA regular season. RUSSELL—The Russell High School Intermediate Girls’ T-Wolves welcomed their crosstown rivals, the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Ravens on Wed., April 12. The first quarter was just a feeling out process, as neither team put up many points in a defensive struggle.

At the end of the first quarter the teams were tied at two. The Ravens took control of the second quarter dropping nine points to the T-Wolves’ four and took an 11-6 lead into the dressing room at the half.

The Ravens continued their dominance in the third quarter knocking down another eight points and holding the T-Wolves to just four. The Ravens took a 19-10 lead into the final quarter and added another 10 points. The T-Wolves had lots of chances but the ball would just not drop for them but they did score five points.

The Ravens took the game 29-15. Scoring for the Ravens were Grace Van Noppen with seven points, Kate Lamothe with six, Katelyn Knapp, Emma Gordon and Keely Zandbelt with four and Abby Marcellus and Meadow Donnelly with deuces.

Scoring for the T-Wolves were Abby Boszarmeny with seven points, Anna Schoeni with six and Jaden Trudeau with a deuce.
