RUSSELL — Award-winning comedy musical impressionist, André-Philippe Gagnon is coming back to Russell Township where he will again perform his one-of-kind solo show in a fundraiser supporting the Russell Township Sports Dome. The concert will take place Sat., June 3, on the slab of the Russell Arena.

As the opening act, Russell resident and Nashville recording artist Tara Shannon will perform music from her new album, Unfinished, including her recently-released single Love Me Loud.

Gagnon committed to coming back after his show in Embrun this past winter sold out in record time, leaving many fans disappointed. This time the legendary man of 1,000 voices will be performing at the largest venue in the township. There are 1,000 tickets available to the general public and seven corporate $1,200 tables remaining, not including the sponsor tables. The Kin Club is seeking a $5,000 event sponsor, who will receive two champagne tables, a chance to meet Gagnon and Shannon, full name billing on all materials, and other perks.

Gagnon’s show consists of Gagnon and his sound manager, and Gagnon’s vocal range is astounding. His singing impressions cover 60 years of popular music, including the voices of Buddy Holly, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Chubby Checker, Frank Sinatra, the Beegees, Barry White, Axl Rose, and even the Natalie Cole—Nat King Cole duet, Unforgettable. He is also a very funny comedian. At his concert in Embrun he had the audience laughing constantly, except when they were singing along.

Shannon is well-known for supporting charitable causes, including producing music, video and a concert to benefit Jonathan Pitre, the Russell teen currently in Minneapolis for a stem cell transplant to treat his skin condition, Epidermyolsis bullosa. Late last year Shannon also released a charity video about mental health, titled Someone Who Understands. She owns her own artist development agency, record label and publishing company, Willow Sound Records.
